Yuri and his family from Moscow who we met in Lara Beach a few years ago. Turned out they were returning the same time as us the following year so we exchanged football gifts. So I now have a Spartak Moscow cap and pin badge, and he has the Hammers equivalent. We didnt swap wives.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn should really be on that list. 'Cancer Ward' is one of the best books I've ever read. To play the game and, because I'm still fascinated by early space travel, I'd have to say Gagarin though you've reminded me I still need to finish 'The Brothers Karamazov'

Anybody who puts Bulgakov on a list like this, is clearly a man of refinement and good taste. My favourite author probably. (as long as its not for the Master and Margherita).
Heart of a Dog and Notes from a Country Doctor were two of the best books I think I have read, neither are at all difficult to read. Heart of a Dog is very funny and thought-provoking too.
